The project is focused on efficiency increasing of potato mineral fetilization and risk reduction of surface and underground water pollution. New technological approaches will be verified with local sub-surface application of fertilizers containing nitrification and urease inhibitors and with targeted changes of water regime in potato ridges developing optimal micro-relief and internal structure of ridges for better utilization of nutrients and reduction of nutrient losses. New technological approaches will be compared with hitherto applied approaches and an evaluation will be done for differences between them, advantages and disadvantages regarding plant nutrient utilization, yields and production quality and their inter-year stability, labour consumption and cost of technologies, regime of water percolation and nitrate nitrogen leaching.
