The activites of surface proteases are increased dring pancreatic carcinogenesis. Their interactions with some biopeptides (incretins, pancreatic hormones, neuropeptides, and some others) enable the differential diagnosis of early PAC symptoms: differentiation of PAC diabetes from the common diabetes type 2 and the explanation of the decreasing body mass before the local symptoms appear. These procedures constitute the prerequisites for early PAC diagnosis in a significant proportion of affected subjects. (en)
