Description	The effective treatment of infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in patients with cystic fibrosis requires early pathogen detection. Highly sensitive detection of the P.aeruginosa using nested PCR will be the indication to start an antibiotic therapy. The benefit from novel therapeutic protocol will be evaluated by comparison with clinical and microbiological data of historical controls (2001-2004). Their sputa will be retrospectively examined for the presence of P.aeruginosa using novel PCR. The potential occurrence of transmissible strain of P.aeruginosa in a cohort of our patients with cystic fibrosis will be checked using two genotyping techniques: RAPD and macrorestriction typing with subsequent PFGE. (en) Efektivní léčba infekce Pseudomonas aeruginosa u pacientů s cystickou fibrózou vyžaduje její časnou diagnostiku. Velmi citlivý přímý průkaz patogenu pomocí nested PCR bude indikací k zahájení antibiotické léčby. Prospěch z nového léčebného protokolu bude stanoven porovnáním s klinickými daty historických kontrol (2001 až 2004) a s jejich mikrobiologickými výsledky, jež budou doplněné o retrospektivní PCR vyšetření sputa na přítomnost P.aeruginosa. Existence přenosného kmene P.aeruginosa v komunitě pacientů s cystickou fibrózou bude zjišťována pomocí dvou genotypizačních technik: RAPD a makrorestrikční typizace s využitím PFGE.
