Description	The aim of the project is to significantly improve the parameters and overall technical state of wind tunnels and safeguarding operations with emphasis on the quality of the technical potential and decreasing the ecological load on the surrounding area. The basic idea of the project is to ensure funding for the renewal and operation of the infrastructure. From these aspects, the following objectives are specified: A) Renewal of large research infrastructure Renewal of the research infrastructure will focus on the modernization of the actual tunnel equipment and measuring technology. Modernization of the tunnels will bring the expansion of technical opportunities for wind measurements, increased productivity and efficiency of measuring and decreased noise emissions, i.e. decreasing the overall load on the environment. B) Ensuring funding for operating infrastructure The nature of the research activities into VZLÚ (the Aeronautical Research and Test Institute) wind tunnels does not allow long-term self-financing to be ensured. So that this experimental equipment can properly fulfil the role of a large research infrastructure, it needs to cover part of its operating costs from public resources. This means primarily ensuring basic operating staff, costs linked to regular operations and maintenance of technical equipment, costs for continual maintenance of the wind tunnels, their basic experimental equipment and measuring technology. (en) Cílem projektu je výrazné zkvalitnění parametrů a celkového technického stavu aerodynamických tunelů a zajištění spolehlivosti provozu s důrazem na kvalitu technického potenciálu a snížení ekologického zatížení okolí. Základní smyslem projektu je zajistit finanční prostředky na obnovu a provoz infrastruktury. Z těchto hledisek jsou specifikovány následující cíle: A) Obnova velké výzkumné infrastruktury Obnova výzkumné infrastruktury bude zaměřena na modernizaci vlastního tunelového zařízení a měřicí techniky. Modernizace tunelů přinese rozšíření technických možností aerodynamických měření, zvýšení produktivity a efektivity měření a snížení hlukových emisí tj. snížení celkové zátěže na životní prostředí. B) Zajištění finančních prostředků na provoz infrastruktury Charakter výzkumné činnosti aerodynamických tunelů VZLÚ neumožňuje zajistit dlouhodobé samofinancování. Aby toto experimentální zařízení mohlo řádně plnit roli velké infrastruktury, potřebuje pokrýt část svých provozních nákladů z veřejných zdrojů. Jedná se zejména o zajištění základního provozního personálu, náklady spojené s běžným provozem a údržbou technického zařízení, náklady na průběžné udržování aerodynamických tunelů, jejich základního experimentálního vybavení a měřicí techniky.
