Description
  • The project is focused on the study of concentration profiles in catalytic monolith converters for abatement of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from automotive exhaust gases. Both main deNOx technologies - NOx storage and reduction (NSRC aka LNT), and NH3 selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) - need to be operated in a well controlled way to achieve high conversion and to avoid a slip of undesired by-products (N2O, NH3). The project aim is (i) to measure and analyse dynamic evolution of internal concentration profiles along the monolith channel, (ii) to develop chemically and physically based mathematical models that can be used for prediction of the observed dynamic behavior, and (iii) to propose control strategies leading to high NOx reduction conversion and selectivity. The results will be published in reviewed scientific journals and publications aimed on the industry (Society of Automotive Engineers, SAE). The topic is highly actual and relevant to the automotive industry and air pollution control. (en)
  • Hlavní cíle projektu jsou: a) Proměřit a analyzovat dynamický vývoj koncentračních a teplotních profilů uvnitř profilů uvnitř kanálků deNOx monolitických konvertorů za realistických podmínek. b) Vyvinout pokročilejší matematické modely založené na porozumění fyzikálních a chemických procesů uvnitř reaktoru, které pak umožní lépe předpovídat jeho dynamické chování, zejména vzhledem ke konverzi a selektivitě redukce NOx. c) Navrhnout strategie řízení provozu, které povedou k vysokým konverzím a selektivitám redukce NOx a minimalizaci úniku vedlejších produktů NH3 a N2O.
