Description
  • The following tasks will be solved: Testing of multiple microbes and their combinations using inhibition and contact zone tests on agar plates will be performed. Endophytic fungi and model bacteria will be tested against entomopathogenic, insect-associated, or symbiotic fungi. Interactions between endophytes and plant pathogenic fungi will show the potential of endophytes to control phytopathogens transmitted by subcorticolous insects. The fungal species producing antagonist reaction will be tested for a production of bioactive metabolites and subjected to chemical analytical procedures available in our laboratory (UPLC-MS, NMR) and also in collaboration with other COST participants. The output will be added to a database of biologically active microbes generated by this COST action. Species selected as the most competitive will be determined to the species level using classical taxonomical methods augmented by multiple DNA sequence comparisons and DNA barcoding. (en)
  • Bude charakterizována diverzita hub na jednotlivých sledovaných substrátech pomocí molekulárně genetických metod. Budou zjištěny vzájemné interakce mezi endofytními houbami na jedné straně a symbionty a patogeny podkorního hmyzu na straně druhé. Bude zjištěna role bioaktivních metabolitů v těchto interakcích. Biologicky aktivní látky a jejich producenti budou charakterizováni (také ve spolupráci s ostatními účastníky COST Akce). U získaných látek bude testován obecný farmakologický potenciál (cytotoxicita, protinádorová aktivita). Nepopsané houbové druhy s výraznějšími biologickými aktivitami budou popsány jako nové. Výsledky budou publikovány v recenzovaných vědeckých časopisech.
