Description
| - The project will focus on three little explored phenomena in evolutionary ecology of butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea): evolution of myrmecophily in Lycaenidae, evolution of ranges, biotope association and migratory habits in the genus Colias (Pieridae), and cladistic biogeography of a highly diverse and predominately mountain genus Erebia (Nymphalidae: Satyrinae). It will use diverse array of methods, including constructing of original phylogenetic hypotheses, vicariance analyses and mapping ecological traits onto phylogenetic trees, as well as mark-recapture studies and allozyme analyses of selected species and populations.
