Description	The main object of the proposed research is to empirically identify and define the specific structures peculiar to and typical for the legal reasoning by means of the analysis of the speech and legal language on the court proceedings. It is the first attempt to conduct a research of this type in Czech Republic and it can therefore not only throw a new light on the problems of the judical decision making process in general, but also help to resolve some problems of the actual situation in the Czech courts and thus bring new impetus to our efforts make the Czech judiciary more effective and compatible with the European standards. (en) Jde o empirický výzkum prováděný na okresních a krajských soudech České republiky s cílem zachytit a popsat ty struktury, které jsou typické pro právnické uvažování, a to za pomoci analýzy konverzace v soudní síni a mluvených projevů soudce a stran. Výzkum tohoto typu nebyl ještě v České republice prováděn a mohl by proto přinést cenné poznatky, které lze využít pro formování nových teoretických pohledů na proces aplikace práva jako takový. Výsledky výzkumu mohou být použity i v praxi, kde přesnější pochopení procesu soudcovského rozhodování může vést k zefektivnění a zkvalitnění práce našich soudů, což činí výzkum aktuální zejména dnes, kdy se připravujeme na reformu našeho soudního systému.
