Description
  • The Aurora kinase family presents a serine/threonine protein kinases that regulate different processes of mitosis and meiosis and interact with microtubule organization machinery. The Aurora kinases as a crutial players in cell proliferation are over expressed in a variety of cancers. Although function of animal and yeast Aurora kinases have been analyzed, plant Aurora kinases are much less characterized. Proposed project is focused on study of plant Aurora kinases specifically Aur1 and Aur3. We will study effect of Aurora kinase on microtubule nucleation and organization in vivo using transient and stable co-expression of GFP kinases with gamma-tubulin, microtubules or Ran GTPases. Aurora kinases ineracting proteins will be isolated from wild type or transformed cultures expressing tagged versions of kinases. Downregulation of Arabidopsis Aurora1 and 3 by RNAi will help to understand their role in microtubular organization and cell division in acentrosomal plant cells. (en)
  • Charakterizace homologů Aurora kináz a jejich role v průběhu organizace acentrozomálního vřeténka a cytokineze. Objasnění, zda interakce Aurora kináz s RanGTP dráhami podílejícími se na nukleaci mikrotubulů, které jsou známé u živočichů, existují i u acentrozomálních rostlinných buněk.
