Description
  • Proposed project models the real structure of composite and ensures a better agreement with experiment than models based on idealized structure. The project uses extended database of images of plan-parallel cuts and an original SW for automated void recognition, parametric approximation of their boundaries, application of finite element method (FEM) and non-standard presentation of results. Due to the basic role of voids, the automated system will be created that makes possible to investigate the effect of void dimension, shape and distribution to the change of elastic parameters in 2D case. Thanks to extended database of images, it will be possible to create the virtual composite with voids and to get a lot of realization of the real structure. In the next phase the model will be extended to the 3D case using the structure cuts or images from computer tomography. Furthermore, the model with voids will be improved by the use of real shape of fibers. The application of such complicated heterogeneous structure will be solved by the advanced FEM. The expected results will contain the effect of structure imperfections to elastic properties and better agreement of model with experiment. (en)
