Description	An archaeological and paleoecological evaluation of this country's only large-scale excavations of the filled up river channels, performed in Mikulčice between 1966 and 1984 (excavated area 10.000 m2). Reconstruction of bridges, adjacent riverside water structures and fortifications and the relief of river channels using 3D modelling. Exact dating and interpretation of buildings in the context of European construction techniques in the early Middle Ageas. A new verifying (supplementary) field works around bridge No. 1 with detailed archaeological, geological, dendrochronological, archaeobotanical, palynological and other natural science analyses. Organisation of an international conference to the problematic of bridges and riverside water structures in Central Europe. Resolving the basic archaeological, historical and ecological questions relating to the bridges of Mikulčice, adjacent water structures and the castle as as a whole. Clarification of the significance of river channels in the life and defence of the castle. Interest focuses on the questions of disappearance of the bridges as well as the power centre in the historical and ecological connections around the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries. (en) Archeologické a paleoekologické vyhodnocení v našem prostředí jedinečných velkoplošných odkryvů zaniklých říčních ramen v Mikulčicích z let 1966-1984 (prozkoumaná plocha 10.000 m2). Rekonstrukce mostů, přilehlých vodních a fortifikačních staveb a reliéfu říčních ramen pomocí 3D vizualizací. Exaktní datování a interpretace staveb v kontextu evropského stavitelství raného středověku. Nový ověřovací (doplňkový) terénní výzkum v prostoru mostu č. 1 s detailními archeologickými, geologickými, dendrochronologickými, archeobotanickými, palynologickými a dalšími přírodovědnými analýzami. Organizace mezinárodní konference k problematice mostů a vodních staveb ve střední Evropě. Řešení základních archeologických, historických a ekologických otázek dotýkajících se mikulčických mostů, přilehlých vodních staveb a celého hradu. Objasnění významu říčních ramen v životě a obraně hradu. V popředí zájmu otázky zániku mostů a mocenského centra v historických a ekologických souvislostech doby kolem přelomu 9. a 10. století.
