Description
  • The aim is to tailor mechanical behaviour, degradability and lifetime of biodegradable thermoplastic materials by incorporation of the B-starch and other fillers in matrices from suitable biodegradable polymers. New theoretical knowledge which concerns physical properties of prepared materials will be obtained. Materials with controlled lifetime and biodegradability are desired in many applications areas, particularly in agriculture e.g. as mulch films. The presence of starch particles in the polymeric matrix will affect not only the mechanical behaviour, but also increase the surface area available for attack by microorganisms. The quantity of wheat secondary B-starch is about 9.0 % of produced A-starch. B-starch is of higher concentration of proteins, lower amylose content and exhibits higher gelatinization temperature. Pprocessing of this material (filtration, drying etc.) is problematic for small particles. Nowadays B-starch is used as a feed or for ethanol production in the Czech Republic. B-type of starch will be applied for plastics development in native form or in form with substituted OH groups by ester or ether bonds.  Recently our research team succesfully tested the carbonation mud for property modification of polymers - high-density polyethylene and recycled polyethylene films. Except this we consider other materials as fillers, eg. cellulose fibers. (en)
  • Řídit mechanické vlastnosti a degradabilitu biodegradabilních termoplastických materiálů inkorporací B-škrobu, o jehož další aplikační možnosti vzniká zájem, a dalších přirozených plniv do matrice z komerčně dostupných biodegradabilních polymerů. B-škrob bude použit v nativní a substituované formě.
