Description
  • The goals of the submitted project are to gain a greater degree of comprehensive insight into the strength of the immigration currents that headed east from the Czech lands toward Russia during the pre WWI period, to identify their ideological and economic motives, and to document their ramifications on contemporary Czech politics. This study builds on the work completed in project num. 409/05/2535, which, among other topics, examined the recruitment of qualified workers from the Czech lands for Russian labour market segments lacking an adequate work force. The existing research will be expanded to include documentation of the ideological and political motives which brought on the shift of immigration currents toward eastern colonized regions (Russian Manchuria, Caucasus, Volhyn). The study further concentrates on the issue of the relationship of the power of the state to the phenomenon of immigration in its national and political setting, and finally evaluates this setting for the purpose of analysing the position of the current Czech political representatives on general questions of immigration and eastern Russian immigration currents in particular. The result of the project will be a book published in the year 2011. (en)
  • Základní záměr projektu se soustředí na posouzení sekundárních politicko-ekonomických projevů východní emigrace v rámci hodnocení domácí a státní politiky. Hlavním výstupem bude odborná monografie v rozsahu cca 250 tiskových stran, vedlejším průběžné konferenční výstupy.
