Description	Availability of molecular markers to ecologists provided data on genetic structure of clonal plant populations (e.g. data on genet numbers, genet diversity, and spatial extend of individual genets).The permanent plot studies provided information on the spatiotemporal dynamics of plant communities. We propose to use the detailed information on clonal architecture and clonal behaviour of individual species (the low level mechanisms) to explain the genetic structure and spatiotemporal dynamics of grassland communities (the high level patterns). Two experimental sites (a mountain meadow and a lowland meadow) where our long-term permanent plot experiments are carried out are available. Here we will (1) determine genet numbers and mean genet sizes under different experimental treatments and competition regimes; (2) determine architectural parameters and growth parameters of selected species; (3) determine change in species mobility under different experimental treatments and competition regimes; (en) Dostupnost molekulárních markerů pro ekologické studie umožnila získání dat o genetické struktuře populací klonálních rostlin (např. počet genet, diverzita genet, velikost jednotlivých genet v prostoru). Studie na trvalých plochách umožňují získat informaci o časoprostorové dynamice rostlinných společenstev. Navrhujeme užít detailní údaje o klonální architektuře a klonálním chování jednotlivých druhů rostlin (mechanismy na nižší hierarchické úrovni) pro vysvětlení pozorované genetické struktury populací a časoprostorové dynamiky travinných společenstev (%22pattern%22 na vyšší hierarchické úrovni). Máme k dispozici dvě experimentální stanoviště (horskou a nížinnou louku), na nichž probíhají dlouhodobé pokusy. Na těchto plochách (1) určíme počet a průměrnou velikost genet při různých experimentální podmínkách a v různých režimech kompetice; (2) stanovíme architektonické a růstové parametry vybraných druhů; (3) stanovíme změny v mobilitě druhů za různých experimentálních podmínek; (4) stanovíme
