Description	The essence of the proposed project is a methodological innovation in the geofactor analysis of engineering-geological conditions in mining regions with underground mining applied in the Ostrava-Karviná Coalfield and realized by means of a newly supposed methodology. This methodology enables the analysis of engineering-geological conditions with specification for a mining region and utilizes the new capabilities of geographic information systems. The need to solve the given problems is highly topical, because any systematic conception of solving problems associated with engineering-geological conditions in a mining landscape does not exist. The accumulation of problems connected with the increased accumulation of influencing geofactors is distinct here and a methodological tool, which would help solve the problems, would be welcomed by the competent institutions as well as by professional public concerned. Research will be carried out into a chosen set of four model research areas in the chosen part of Ostrava-Karviná Coalfield with various characters of foundation soils, with significant influencing by anthropogenic and other geodynamic processes and geofactors, with a possibility of future applying to the areas affected my mining activity anywhere in the Czech Republic and abroad.
