Description
  • Polymer solutions, colloidal suspensions, emulsions, and liquids containing nano- or micro- particles, are known as microdisperse liquids. The proposal is focused to fundamental research of phenomena at macroscopic interface between a solid wall and a flowing microdispersion. Main topic of the project would be a study of the apparent slip and electrokinetic phenomena in dependence on the material of solid walls. These interfacial transport phenomena are not important for large-scale technological installations. However, they may be crucial in classical microtechnologies (dialyzers etc.), microreactors, microexchangers, and nanotechnologies, where the microdispersions flow through narrow channels. In this context, understanding of the interfacial phenomena and possibility of their independent experimental determination, as suggested by the present project, becomes essential. (en)
