Description	The level of resistance of the grown cereal cultivars (wheat, barley, oat) to wheat dwarf virus (WDV) and barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) will be studied. Sources of resistance of cereals to virus and fungal diseases will be revealed. Plant pathologic fundamentals for resistance breeding to fungal diseases in wheat and oat will be elaborated. Virulence and aggressiveness of eyespot, sharp eyespot, take-all, rusts, powdery mildew, Septoria avenae and Pyrenophora avenae and the effectiveness of resistance sources to them will be studied. In addition, the distribution and the survey of pathogenicity of crown rust, stem rust, powdery mildew, Septoria avenae and Pyrenophora avenae within the European Continent will be carried out (close association with the project FAO European Oat Disease Nursery. New results should be achieved in methodical and material fundamentals for effective breeding disease resistant cultivars within the Continent as well as in the strategy of genetic control of the diseases. ce (en) 1. Budou vypracovány fytopatologické základy pro tvorbu odrůd obilnin odolných k nejdůležitějším virovým a houbovým chorobám. 2. Z virových chorob bude studována rezistence pšenice k viru zakrslosti pšenice (wheat dwarf virus) a viru žluté zakrslosti ječmene (Barley yellow dwarf virus) u pšenice a dalších obilnin. 3. Z houbových chorob bude studována rezistence pšenice proti hlavním původcům černání kořenů a pat stébel a kořenomorce a rezistence ovsa ke rzi travní, rzi ovesné, padlí travnímu, braničnatce (Septoria avenae) a hnědé skvrnitosti (Pyrenophora avenae) v evropském měřítku. 4. Předpokládá se, že budou dosaženy nové poznatky v metodických a materiálových základech pro efektivní šlechtění hlavních obilnin na odolnost k uvedeným virovým a houbovým chorobám a využití rezistentních odrůd v integrované ochraně proti nim.
