| - The project aims to create a straightforward geographical information system for traditional folk culture (1750–1900), which is based on the interconnection of map sources with information concerning areas of traditional folk culture defined by place (Moravia) and time (1750–1900). The main output of the project, in the form of a geographical information system available on-line, will offer the users (amateurs as well as experts) an information platform which will include the knowledge about documented phenomena from the fields of material and non-material folk culture, and the extent to which they have been researched so far - always in relation to a particular settlement locality or geographical units defined in various ways (e.g. judicial district, parish, manor, ethnographic region, etc.). The launching of the traditional folk culture geographical information system constitutes an effective way to make a large field of specialist knowledge from the area of ethnology and its systematic study of folk culture available to the general public. The emphasis is put on the concentration of information from many fragmented source documents into one information base which can contribute to a better awareness of the variety, richness and importance of the historical forms of traditional culture as one of the essential factors contributing to the formation of local, regional, and national identities, and of the cultural specific characteristics stemming from them. The qualities described designate the geographical information system to become an important information source for educational and popular-scientific work, as well as for scientific work (in the fields of traditional folk culture, history, cultural history, sociology). - Projekt si klade za cíl vytvořit přehledný geografický informační systém tradiční lidové kultury (1750–1900), který vychází z propojení mapových podkladů s informacemi z oblasti tradiční lidové kultury definovanými místně (Morava) a časově (1750–1900). Hlavní výstup projektu v podobě on-line přístupného geografického informačního systému nabídne uživatelům (laikům i odborníkům) informační platformu zahrnující poznatky o dokumentovaných jevech z oblasti materiální i nemateriální lidové kultury a o míře jejich dosavadního zpracování – a to vždy ve vazbě na konkrétní sídelní lokalitu či různě definované geografické celky (např. soudní okres, farnost, panství, etnografický region atd.). Zprovoznění geografického informačního systému tradiční lidové kultury představuje efektivní způsob zpřístupnění rozsáhlého pole odborných znalostí z oboru etnologie a jejího systematického studia lidové kultury nejširší veřejnosti. Důraz je kladen na soustředění informací z různě roztříštěných zdrojových dokumentů do jedné informační báze, která může přispět k lepší informovanosti o rozmanitostech, bohatství a významu historických forem tradiční kultury jako jednoho z důležitých faktorů přispívajících k formování lokální, regionální a národní identity a z nich vycházejících kulturních specifik. Tyto popsané vlastnosti předurčují geografický informační systém tradiční lidové kultury, aby se stal významným informačním zdrojem pro edukační, populárně-naučnou i odbornou činnost (v oblasti tradiční lidové kultury, historie, kulturní historie, sociologie).
