Description
| - The main objective of the project is to make a study how direct current (DC), instead of alternating current (AC), could be used inside buildings. This change — which would in effect be a revolution in energy distribution — would save significant amounts of energy. It would also be advantageous for the integration of renewable energy sources and for grid stability. It is determined by EU’s objective, which is to ensure that commercial buildings constructed after 2020 are close to being energy-neutral. The main portion of their power requirement must be generated on site using renewable sources. At present, buildings are responsible for around 40 percent of energy consumption worldwide. Almost every one of today’s energy-efficient consumption points in buildings utilizes DC. They could be cold counters, ventilators or lighting, but every system has its own power supply that takes 230-volt AC from the mains and converts it into an appropriate DC voltage. Conversely, every renewable resource, i.e. photovoltaics or a wind turbine on the roof, initially generates DC, which has to be converted into AC suitable for feeding into the power grid. Project will demonstrate how an optimized 380-volt DC network can be set up in buildings, taking an office building and a superstore as examples. (en)
- Tento projekt v souladu s evropskou vizí 20-20-20 (zvýšit účinnost el.zařízení o 20%, snížit CO2 emise o 20%, zabezpečit 20% energie z obnovitelných zdrojů). Podle dostupných statistik je 40% celkové energie spotřebováno v komerčních budovách. Více než 50% je spotřebováno na chladících a klimatizačních a topných zařízeních a osvětlení. Cílem tohoto projektu je zaměřit se na zvýšení účinnosti chladících, klimatizačních a tepelných zařízeních a osvětlení. Konkrétním cílem tohoto projektu je instalace rozvodu, distribuce stejnosměrnného proudu na místo standardního střídavého proudu. Dalším cílem je testování v komerčních budovách a porovnání výsledků se standardním současným řešením.
