| - Kosmické počasí charakterizuje podmínky na Slunci, ve slunečním větru, v magnetosféře, ionosféře a termosféře, které mohou ohrozit nejen činnost a spolehlivost technických systémů, ale i zdraví a lidský život. Úsilí vyvolané snahou o zmírnění těchto dopadů vedla Spojené státy (US National Space Weather Plan) a EU (COST 724) k přijetí projektů, zaměřených na výzkum kauzálního řetězce %22Slunce - meziplanetární prostředí - zemská magnetosféra - blízké okolí Země%22. Předmětem předloženého projektu je výzkum vedoucí ke zlepšování metodik předvídání geomagnetické aktivity a stavu ionosféry a implementaci nových poznatků do stávajících předpovědních metod. Cílem pak je předat tyto výsledků uživatelům. V rámci projektu budou vypracovávány modely vzniku a šíření iregulárních eventů meziplanetárním prostorem, modely jejich interakce s magnetosférou a modely ionosféry v průběhu silných geomagnetických poruch.
- Space weather is defined as %22conditions on the sun and in the solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere and thermosphere that can influence the performance and reliability of technological systems and can endanger human life or health%22. Aimed at attenuation of these impacts, United States (US National Space Weather Plan) and EU (COST 724) have launched projects focused on the study of causal chain %22sun - interplanetary space - EarthŮs magnetosphere - near-Earth environment. The main objective of the project is to improve methodology of the forecasts of geomagnetic activity and the state of ionosphere and to implement the new knowledge into the recent forecast procedures. The main goal is to transfer these results to users. In frame of the project, new models of the origin of irregular events and their propagation in the interplanetary space, models of their interaction with the magnetosphere, and models of the ionosphere during strong geomagnetic disturbances will be developed.
