Description
| - Project named “Dynamics and Organization of Chromosomes in normal and pathologic conditions” represents within the frame of the “Center of Basic Research” a cooperation of four outstanding scientific teams dealing with similar problems, which are thus solved by a broad range of complementary methods. The project aims at the study of chromatin changes in normal system as well as in pathology and at the understanding of processes related to gene expression. We are particularly interested in the demonstration of some epigenetic markers in differing model situations and in the characterization of chromatin structure with respect to replication, transcription and dynamic changes of 3D-structure of chromosomal territories. The high-resolution analysis of chromatin organization represents an important benefit to structural biology. The project is in the second part of its solution substantially extended by the development of new technological procedures exploitable in microscopy and nanotechnologies. (en)
- Projekt s názvem „Dynamika a organizace chromozomů během buněčného cyklu v normě a patologii“ v rámci programu výzkumu a vývoje „Centra základního výzkumu“ představuje propojení čtyř týmů zabývajících se příbuznou problematikou, pro jejíž řešení je využita vzájemně se doplňující široká škála metodických přístupů. Projekt je zaměřen na studium změn uspořádání chromozomů, resp. chromatinu v buněčném jádře s provázaností do patologie a k poznání dějů souvisejících s expresí genů. Jedná se zejména o prokázání některých epigenetických značek při regulaci genové exprese v různých modelových situacích a o charakterizaci struktury chromatinu v souvislosti s replikací, transkripcí a s dynamickými změnami 3D-struktury chromozómových teritorií jako celku. Neméně důležitá je vysokorezoluční analýza organizace chromatinového vlákna, která je přínosem pro strukturální biologii. Projekt je v druhé polovině řešení významně rozšířen o vývoj nových technologických postupů využitelných v mikroskopii a nanotechnologiích.

| - The LC535 Center represented an integration of teams engaged in structural-functional organization of chromatin and cell nucleus, pathology and nanotechnologies. In the 7 years of the duration of the project, 126 articles and 3 book chapters were published and 7 international symposia were organized. 59 students participated in the project, 9 diploma and 14 doctoral theses were defended. - Centrum LC535 představovalo spojení týmů zabývajících se strukturně-funkčním uspořádáním chromatinu a buněčného jádra s provázaností do patologie a nanotechnologií. Za 7 let existence projektu bylo publikováno 126 odborných článků, 3 knižní kapitoly a bylo uspořádáno 7 mezinárodních sympozií. Na projektu pracovalo i 59 studentů, bylo obhájeno 9 diplomových a 14 disertačních prací. (cs)
