  • Předmětem zájmu projektu je diagnostika a léčba normotenzního hydrocefalu (NPH). V České republice uniká v současné době diagnóze 700-1100 nemocných ročně. Navrhovatel předkládá v tuzemsku zcela ojedinělý soubor 94 testovaných nemocných. Navrhovaná metodika zahrnuje kromě zavedených diagnostických postupů, tj. CT a MRI, testování pomocí lumbálního infuzního testu ( LIT ) a pomocí transkraniálního Dopplera ( TCD ). Ověření očekávaných výsledků projektu umožní neinvazní diagnostiku NPH a zcela unikátní metodu monitoringu funkce zkratu po operaci. (cs)
  • The project deals with diagnosis a treatment of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). There are 700-1100 undiagnosed patients in the Czech Republic per year. The principal investigator presents the unique series of 94 tested patients in the Czech RepublicProposed methods include, beside well known metods (CT, MRI), testing procedure of lumbar infusion test (LIT) and transcranial Doppler monitoring (TCD). Verifiing of the expected outcomes enables non-invasive diagnosis of NPH and unique TCD monitoring of function of cerebrospinal fluid shunt after the operation. (en)
