Description	Cílem projektu je na základě experimentálních dat navrhnout jednotlivé dílčí kroky, tj. fyzikálně-chemickou úpravu, enzymovou hydrolýzu a mikrobiální fermentaci obilné slámy, eventuelně i jiného lignocelulózového odpadu, na etanol. (cs) In Czech Republic, wheat straw is a typical lignocellulosic waste but at the same time it can be considered renewable energy feedstock. However, microbial conversion of wheat straw to ethanol or other products is hampered by inefficient hydrolysis of cellulose and its accompanying compounds into usable saccharides. Therefore, an aim of this project is to find out convenient conditions for chemical treatment of lignocellulosic material that open up the cellulose for subsequent enzyme hydrolysis and further utilisation of this hydrolyzed material for a microbial conversion into ethanol. Two types of the conversion will be tested - separate processes of hydrolysis and fermentation and simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF). In the frame of the project, a convenient microbial producer for lignocellulosic hydrolysates will be found, various types of microbial cultivation will be tested and the problem of ethanol concentrating by pervaporation and gas stripping will be studied.
