  • Systematický výzkum vztahů mezi nanometrovými kovovými strukturami deponovanými na funkčních oxidech kovů a jejich reaktivitou doplněný teoretickými výpočty elektronové struktury. (cs)
  • The science and technology objective of this project is to use a common platform of knowledge, and advanced experimental and theoretical approaches from surface science and heterogeneous catalysis to systematically explore and define relationships between nanoscale structure and reactivity. Selected functional metal (i.e. Ce, Sn, Ti, ...) oxide surfaces, both clean and decorated with metallic nanostructures (e.g. Au, Cu, Pd, ...), and related systems will be investigated. For the oxides, both single crystals and highly oriented ultra thin-films will be employed. Theoretical modelling will include Monte Carlo calculations of crystal growth, and first-principles calculations of the electronic structure of clusters and of their interaction with the oxide substrates.Primarily, the project will deliver fundamental nanoscale data on the structure and reactivity of model nanostructured catalyst/sensor systems.
