| Description
| - The main objectives of this project include: 1) Development of a detailed sequence-stratigraphic framework for the Cenomanian-Turonian interval (c. 93-94 Myr ago) in the Sevier foredeep, southwestern Utah. 2) Reconstruction of sea-level changes, transgressive-regressive events and changes in atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide during the Oceanic Anoxic Event II. at the Cenomanian-Turonian boundary. 3) Correlation of the foredeep deposits with dated strata in the center of the Western Interior basin, and 4) Interpretation of the causal relationships between insolation cycles, changes in greenhouse gas concentrations, sea-level oscillations and other oceanographic processes during this global anoxic event. - Hlavní cíle projektu zahrnují: 1) Vytvoření detailního sekvenčně stratigrafického rámce pro hraniční interval cenoman-turon (c. 93-94 mil.let) v předpolí seviérského orogénu, jihozápadní Utah. 2) Rekonstrukce pohybů mořské hladiny, transgresně-regresních událostí a změn v koncentracích oxidu uhličitého v atmosféře během oceánického anoxického eventu OAE II na hranici cenoman-turon. 3) Korelace sedimentů předpolí s datovaným sedimentárním sledem v centru pánve Western Interior, a 4) Interpretace možných kauzálních vazeb mezi cykly insolace, změnami koncentrace skleníkových plynů v atmosféře, pohyby mořské hladiny a dalšími oceánografickými událostmi během tohoto globálního anoxického eventu.
