| Description
| - The interdisciplinary project aims at following and elucidating the process in which the biblical texts, having been formed by historical circumstances, became themselves influential in the formation of new cultures. The project is profiled by three perspectives: it will examine emergence, transmission and interpretation of the biblical texts. Researchers of different specializations will analyse selected topics concerning biblical texts, their context and formative influence in the time span from the Late Bronze Age until the present day. The project will contribute to the knowledge of the historical contexts of the biblical texts by providing editions and databases of primary historical sources on the international level and it will also provide further basic instruments for understanding and interpreting the Bible in the Czech language domain (editions, commentaries, thematic studies). - Cílem mezioborového projektu je přispět k objasnění procesu, v němž se biblické texty, které samy vznikaly pod vlivem dějinných okolností, staly významným formujícím vlivem při vzniku nových kulturních tradic. Projekt se profiluje ve třech perspektivách: vznik, transmise a interpretace biblických textů. Badatelé různých zaměření budou analyzovat vybraná témata týkající se biblických textů, jejich kontextu a působení v časovém období od pozdní doby bronzové dodnes. Projekt přispěje k poznání dějinných kontextů biblických textů, neboť v jeho rámci budou zpracovány edice a databáze primárních historických pramenů na mezinárodní úrovni, a do českojazyčného prostředí přinese další základní referenční nástroje k pochopení a výkladu Bible (edice, komentáře, tématické studie).
