| - V roce 1962 jsme jako první zjistili tvorbu 7. hydroxylovaných derivátů C19- steroidů u člověka a rozsáhle jsme jejich biochemii studovali. V r. 1994 zjistil Morfin v Paříži, že tyto látky jsou účinnými imunostimulátory, že jsou aktivním principem při imunostimulačním účinku dehydroepiandrosteronu (navrženého k terapii HIV) a že zřejmě mechanismus jejich účinku m.j. spočívá na vytěsňování glukokortikoidů z vazby na receptor. Chceme blíže sledovat antiglukokortikoidní působení přirozených steroidů substituovaných v poloze 7, včetně skupiny rostlinných hormonů, brassinolidů, jejichž použití v agrotechnice by mohlo mít ev. vliv na modulaci imunitního stavu některých populačních skupin. - As early as in 1962 we found for the first time the formation of 7-hydroxy-derivatives of c19-steroids in man. The extensive study of their biochemistry followed. In 1994 Morfin and co-workers }Paris] brought evidence that these compounds are effective immune-stimulating agents and represent the active immune-stimulating metabolites of dehydroepiandrosterone [the latter has even been suggested for treatment of HIV]. They suggested that the mechanism of action of these compounds may consist in displacement of glucocorticoids from their receptors. In this project we would like to follow up further anti-glucocorticoid effects of naturally occurring steroids substituted at position 7, including a series of plant hormones, brassinolides, the use of whichin agriculture could, eventually, influence [by modulation] the immunity state of some population groups.
