  • Polyazacyclesless and/or unsymetrically substituted with phosphorus acid pendant arms willbe synthesized and their coordination ability toward di-/tri-valent metal ionswill be investigated. Complexes of the ligands should retain convenientproperties of such complexes of analogous carboxylic ligands (thermodynamic/kinetic stability) butshould provide some improved physico-chemical properties as complexation rates.Thermodynamic, kinetic and spectroscopic properties of these compounds will beinvestigated under chemical conditions. Selected ligands/complexes will beinvestigated under radiochemical conditions (complexation, stability).Compounds with desired properties (suitable for use in nuclear medicine fordiagnosis/therapy) will be investigated in vitro or in vivo and conjugated tobiological vectors. The main aim of the Project is an understanding how aligand structure (size of macrocycle, number and/or kind of pendant arms,placement of the pendant arms) influences properties of the complexes formedand how the properties are altered on a way from the low-molecular-weightcomplexes to larger organized systems. An import part consists from a developmentof technology for use of suitable isotopes and complexes as newradiopharmaceuticals. (en)
