Description
| - The researchers' methodology is based on the presupposition that in contemporary literary criticism itis necessary to study the concrete literary material, to go back to sources (ad fontes). The demand also appeared at AILC congresses. Applying modern methods of interpretation the researchers attempt at the presentation of selected genres in a longer temporal frame from the Middle Ages up to the present day in several European literatures. They continue the traditions of historical poetics (Veselovsky, Likhachev, Meletinsky, Curtius). The literary genre in their conception is not regarded in a static way as a rigid model, but as an polymorphous entity consisting of the fragments of other genres, as a mobile and unfinished structure. Literary works belonging to the above-mentioned genres are analysed as part of the net of relations containing works and genres (intertextuality) which communicate with each other (dialogue character). (cs)
