The aims of the proposed research program are exp. and theor. studies of thermodynamic, kinetic, magnetic and electronic properties of individual atoms at grain boundaries.Investigated samples will be prepared from bicrystals of iron and iron-silicon alloys. Study of solute segregation at selected grain boundaries in these materials will result in determination of segregation enthalpies and entropies.Based on the knowledge about grain boundary diffusion, these interfaces will be enriched by isotopes suitable for emission (source) Mössbauer spectroscopy,e.g. (57)Co and (119m)In. Parameters of hyperfine structure determined from Mössbauer spectra will be used for description of magnetic properties and electron structure of the selected atoms. Exp. results will be compared with results of ab initio electronic structure calculations using the linear muffin-tin orbital method. This comparison will provide us with detailed information about the state of the atoms in grain boundary core. (en)
Předkládaný projekt si klade za cíl experimentální a teoretické studium termodynamických, kinetických, magnetických a elektronových vlastností jednotlivých atomů na hranicích zrn. Zkoumané vzorky budou připraveny z bikrystalů železa a slitin železo-křemík. (57)Co a (119m)In. Parametry hyperjemné struktury získané z mössbauerovských spekter využijeme k popisu magnetických vlastností a elektronové struktury sledovaných atomů. Experimentální výsledky budouporovnávány s výsledky ab initio výpočtů elektronové struktury metodou linearizovaných muffin-tin orbitalů. Tato porovnání nám poskytnou detailní informace o stavu atomů v jádře hranic zrn. (cs)
