The main goal is to determine correlations between the interlayer exchange coupling in magnetic multilayers and the morphology of the interfaces (roughness and interdiffusion). Multilayers of ferromagnetic (Co, Fe) and weakly magnetic metals are prepared bay rf sputtering, evaporation and molecular beam epitaxy (in cooperating laboratories). The two presumably correlated properties are important tests for the theories of itinerant magnetism and are crucial for the performance of multilayers in memories and sensors. They will be studied by means of microwave spin-wave resonance, by thermomagnetometry and domain observations. The morphology woll be diagnosed by x-ray and electron diffraction, x-ray photoelectron spectrometry and Moessbauer spectroscopy. Structural and thermodynamic models will be developed for interpretation and evaluation of the measurements. (en)
Obě korelující vlastnosti prověřují teorie itinerantního magnetismu a určují chování multivrstev v pamětích a sensorech. Budou studovány pomocí mikrovlnnéspin-vlnové resonance, termomagnetickým měřením a zviditelňováním magnetických domén. Morfologie bude určována pomocí rtg a elektronové difrakce, rtg fotoelektronové spektrometrie a Moessbauerovy spektroskopie. Budou vivinuty strukturní a termodynamické modely, které umožní interpretaci a zhodnocení výsledků měření. (cs)
