Description
  • This paper describes coupling of damage mechanics and moisture transport. Damage mechanics is used in such cases where many micro-cracks or voids are created. The presence of micro-cracks and voids leads to reduction of the Young's modulus but it has also an influence on water permeability. Growing voids increases the porosity and moisture transport is faster. The water permeability is increased for a low level of damage. If the damage parameter is close to one, new water permeability is determined using the Hagen-Poisseuille law. Coupled hydro-mechanical model is used in numerical simulation of a store tank.
