Description	Novel type of bifunctional ATRP initiator with trichloromethyl end groups was synthesized. The initiator was used for methyl methacrylate polymerization giving rise to well defined polymer with tert-halide group at both ends of the polymer chain. The synthesized polymer can be used as a bifunctional macroinitiator for synthesis of ABA-type block copolymers.
