Description
  • Laser-ablation based spectrochemical analytical methods, as e.g. Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) or Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA ICP MS) could be employed in applications, in which the capability for spatially resolved analysis is required. Such analysis gives a two dimensional (2D) or three dimensional (3D) map of the monitored chemical elements. More specifically, recently these methods were utilized for large-area mapping of the elemental distribution in plant compartments or for analysis of mineral microstructure with a high spatial resolution.
