Description
  • This article tries to explain the reason behind the slow transition from prayers said aloud to the acceptance of silent prayer in late antique world. It is argued that this change could have been cause by natural inferences of our normal cognitive processes in regard to the changes in the supposed capabilities of gods to whom these prayers were offered.
