Description
  • The evolution of polyolefin particles in catalytic polymerizations leads to a broad range of particle morphologies due to the interplay of reaction and transport processes with viscoelastic properties of the polymer. First-principle based modeling of particle morphogenesis is a practical tool for deeper understanding and systematic organization of experimental data and empirical knowledge. In particular, the modeling can be adopted for the systematic mapping from the parametric space of reactor conditions and architecture of the catalyst particle into the space of morphologies of resulting polyolefin particles. Moreover, we can discriminate between different modes of the fragmentation process, e.g., between the gradual shrinking of the unfragmented core of a catalyst carrier and its homogeneous fragmentation.

  • Růst částic polyolefinů katalytickou polymerizací vede k vytváření různých morfologií částic vzhledem k interakci reakčně-transportních procesů s viskoelastickými vlastnostmi polymeru. Modely morfogeneze částice polyolefinů jsou praktickým nástrojem pro hlubší pochopení a systematickou organizaci experimentální dat a empirických znalostí. Modelování může být využito pro mapování z parametrického prostoru reakčních podmínek a architektury částice katalyzátoru do prostoru morfologií vzniklých částic polyolefinů. (cs)
