Project will focus on fluid dynamics of particle-laden turbulent flow of micron particles with Large Eddy Simulation technique. Within the project, various methods of turbulence forcing will be studied together with testing of various subgrid scale filters. Also attention will be paid to a more correct handling of the near wall region to better simulate turbulence diffusion of particles towards the wall and their deposition. Project will also focus on turbulence modulation which results from the interaction of particles with the gas stream. Another part of the project will be devoted to the simulation of droplets deposition on the wall, liquid wall film formation and its movement due to the interfacial shear and other forces. Instabilities of the wall film will be studied that give raise to wavy surface and results in the breakup into droplets. Stripping will be studied and entrainment into the gas stream. (en)
