  • "Projekt navrhuje využití aktivity antioxidativních enzymů, zejména superoxid dismutázy (SOD), jako markeru pro stanovení citlivosti brambor k obecné strupovitosti. Odrůdy brambor mají různou ""kapacitu antioxidativního obranného systému"" (KAOS) ve slupce hlíz. Z našich dosavadních výsledků je zřejmé, že KAOS ve slupce hlízy, reprezentovaný aktivitou SOD, je výrazně vyšší u odolných odrůd ve srovnání s citlivými odrůdami. Znalost aktivity antioxidativních enzymů a genotypů brambor v ranném stádiu šlechtitelské selekce umožní výběr těch novošlechtěnců, u nichž by riziko náchylnosti k obecné strupovitosti bylo nejmenší. Využití tohoto markeru povede ke zkrácení šlechtitelského procesu a zvýšení efektivnosti metod selekce aplikací kvalitativně nové metody, založené na buněčných a molekulárních technikách." (cs)
  • "Project suggests to use the activity of antioxidative enzymes, especially superoxide dismutase (SOD), as a marker for determination of potato susceptibility to common scab. Potato cultivars have different ""capacity of antioxidative enzyme defens system"" (CAEDS) in tuber periderm tissue. Based on our previous research results, we found that CAEDS in potato peel, represented by SOD activity, was significantly higher in rezistant cultivars in comparison with sensitive cultivars. The knowledge of the activity of antioxidative enzymes of potato genotypes in early stages of breeding selection will bring selection of novel produced genotypes for which the risk of their susceptibility to common scab will be the lowest. The utilisation of this marker in the early stage of improvement selection would shorten the improvement process and increase the efficiency of selection methods by applying a qualitatively new method based on cellular and molecular techniques."
