Description
  • The major source of fly ash is combustion of fossil fuels, mainly coal. Use of fly ashes as binder gel additive would have positive environmental and economic impact, as it decreases consumption of primary raw materials and energy. However, use of this kind of additive has objective material limitations. One of them is impact of such innovation on the moisture properties of binding gels. We focused our research primarily on capillary action of water in binder gels with different concentration of fly ash in mixture. We found a substantive difference between moisture properties characteristics of use of fluidized bed combustion (FBC) fly ash and cement only.
