  • This article deals with the influence of the addition of nanodiamond on bacterial growth. As a model organism was selected gram-negative bacterium Escherichia coli. The experiment was conducted in a liquid nutrient medium. Biocidal agent was added in the form of nanodiamond powder to the culture medium. There were used three different concentrations of nanodiamond in the medium. in an experiment. To assess the antibacterial effect of the media with the addition of nanodiamond were compared to the growth curve of bacteria obtained by a photometric absorbance at a wavelength of 640 nm. High antibacterial effect in this experiment was achieved with the highest concentration in the medium of nanodiamond - 150 μg.ml -1.
