  • Dedukce parametrů deště z dat radarů různých typů vychází z rozptylových vlastností kapek. Znalosti ekvivalentních odrazových i „extinkčních“ ploch je předmětem zájmu. Metoda „Point matching“ respektující zploštění kapek je spolehlivá, ale spotřebovává výpočetní čas, metoda „Mie“ je rychlejší, ale modeluje kapky jen kulovým tvarem. Příspěvek se proto koncentruje na analýzu chyb Mieovy metody proti zde uvedené přesnější metodě. (cs)
  • The retrieval of rain parameters using various radar types (e.g. radar profilers, weather radars) relies on knowledge of the scattering behavior of drops. Knowledge of the scattering cross section as well as the extinction properties are of importance. Point matching algorithms, which consider the flattening of rain drops, deliver reliable results, but require a high amount of computing time. An algorithm based on the Mie scattering theory assuming spherical targets would spare a significant amount of computing time. However, the errors introduced to rain parameter retrieval by applying Mie scattering theory is investigated.
