Description	The use of a mutant strain lacking both potassium efflux and uptake transporters (ena1-4DELTA nha1DELTA trk1DELTA trk2DELTA) enabled the monitoring of mKir2.1 channel activity on two levels – the provision of the necessary amount of intracellular K+ in media with low potassium concentrations, and simultaneously channel’s contribution to cell potassium sensitivity in the presence of high external K+. Kombinace delecí genů pro transport draslíku dovnitř a z buněk (ena1-4delta nha1delta trk1delta trk2delta) umožňuje sledovat fenotyp funkční exprese na dvou úrovních – jako zvýšení citlivosti při růstu na vysokých vnějších koncentracích KCl, a jako zlepšení růstu na nízkých limitních koncentracích KCl. Použití delečního kmene kvasinek se ukazuje být vhodným nástrojem pro charakterizaci vlastností heterologně exprimovaných transportérů zajišťujících jak výstup tak vstup kationů alkalických kovů do buněk (cs)
