Description
  • Following the conception of Kazimierz Sroka in delimiting the field of definiteness, the author focuses on central determiners (Quirk et al. 1985), advocating the idea that from text-perspective, the usual criteria for exploring in/definiteness are too narrow, ignoring the overlap of grammatical and discourse functions, e.g. when ?uniqueness? and ?novelty? are simultaneously introduced into the text.
