  • Presented work describes investigation of influence of increasing carbon contents on corrosion of MgO-C refractory material by molten slag. Refractory material contained 98 %weight MgO, approx. 2 %weight Fe2O3 and gradated quantity from 3 to 18 %weight C. Corrosion of refractory material was investigated in melts if reducing ladle slags at the temperature of 1600 °C in laboratory conditions. A sample of refractory material with dimensions 10x10x100 mm was submerged into the molten slag and it was exposed for 60 minutes to corrosive effects of slag. The paper describes investigation of influence of increasing carbon contents on corrosion of MgO-C refractory material by molten slag. The refractory material contained 98 %weight MgO, approx. 2 %w.
