Description
| - The paper deals with basic thermophysical properties measurements of engineering alloys. A summary is given of the results of different measurements and basic principles of the devices used for the measurements are described as well. The pro perties measured were thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, thermal capacity, thermal expansion, phase temperature transformation and Curie temperature. The other properties, i. e. density, thermal diffusivity, electrical conductivity and R. F. penetration depth, have been calculated from the measured values. The measurements are usually required over the temperature ranges from ambient to 1200 deg. C. Sometimes the required range is extended up to the melting point of the alloy or down below zero C for measurements of phase transformation temperatures of Ti-Ni shape memory alloys. In addition the laboratory deals with manufacturing of thermocouples and bolometers, their calibration, with measurements of cooling characteristics of nozzles and
