Description
  • Nejvýznamnější společností těžící černé uhlí hlubinným způsobem je v České republice akciová společnost Ostravsko-karvinské doly (OKD). Její nejvyšší produkce dosáhla v 70. létech 20. století 24,8 mil. tun za rok a maximální počet zaměstnanců přesáhl 100 tisíc osob. OKD prošly po roce 1989 výraznou restrukturalizací a útlumem podobně jako celý domácí báňský průmysl. Specifikem tohoto procesu bylo státní vlastnictví těžebních společností od konce 2. světové války do 90. let 20. století, dále výzkumná úloha báňského průmyslu v ekonomice země a tomu odpovídající sociální status horníků. Zaměstnanost v OKD poklesla v období 1990-2006 o více než 80 %. Příspěvek se zabývá příčinami významného poklesu zaměstnanosti a probírá finanční zabezpečení uvolněných zaměstnanců a ostatní opatření, jejichž důsledkem byl sociální smír v době významných změn zaměstnanosti. • The most important company engaged in underground coal mining in the Czech Republic is a joint-stock company Ostravsko-karvinské doly (OKD). Its highest annual output was 24,8 million tons in the 1970s and its maximum number of employees was more than 100 thousand. Like the entire domestic mining industry, OKD saw significant restructuring and reduction after 1989. The particularity of the process was the state ownership of mining companies from the end of World War II up to the 1990s, a significant role of the industry in the country`s economy and thus corresponding social status of coal miners. Between 1990 and 2006 employment in OKD dropped by more than 80 per cent. The paper deals with the reasons for the considerable employment decline and discusses the issues of financial security for dismissed employees and other measures the result of which was social peace even at the time of significant employment changes.
