  • The article aims to clarify the objectives of the project „ENET- Energy units for utilization of nontraditional en-ergy sources“ – its development and research goals, and the current and planned technical structure of the energy unit in Ostrava – Vítkovice. The focus is on field use of devices for processing and energy employment of alterna-tive fuels and intensification of transformation of these fuels into heat and electricity. Other goals of research are sup-porting electrical power technologies used mainly for ac-cumulation of electrical power from distribution network and from the power-producing devices of the power unit. The principal parts planned for the complex accumulation system are standard large capacity accumulation banks and also micro-photovoltaic system employing hydrogen tech-nology. Planned structure and intended function of the power unit as a whole will be presented and the elementary operation specifications of the key technologies elaborated.
