  • Vláknité houby produkují a sekretují β-N-acetylhexosaminidázy, Hex, jako důležité komponenty chitinolytického systému, který se účastní tvorby septa. Dříve publikované výsledky z rekonstitučních experimentů ukazují, že Hex se vyskytují ve dvou molekulárních formách obsahujících jednu či dvě molekuly propeptidu nekovalentně asociovaného s dimerizovaným enzymem. Zde popisujeme nový mechanizmus regulace aktivity Hex založený na asociaci katalytických podjednotek s velkým N-terminálním propeptidem in vivo (cs)
