  • Remediation of hexadecane and 2,6-dinitrotoluene (DNT) trapped in wood and concrete as a result of storage, spills or catastrophic floods was investigated using either bioremediation with natural soil bacteria or photo- and photocatalytic methods (both based on surface reaction enhancing the pollutant gradient toward the surface). Application of specific bacteria on mineral agar resulted in the removal of only 40-70% removal of hexadecane in 4-6 weeks whereas 80-90% DNT was removed in 1 week. Irradiation of concrete with UV light (300-350 nm) with or without a photocatalyst, TiO2, resulted in >95% removal of hexadecane in 1 week but only in 50-70% DNT removal in 3-4 weeks.

  • Odstraňování hexadekanu a 2,6-dinitrotoluenu kontaminujících kůru a beton pocházejících ze zásobníků a havárií bylo zkoumána pomocí přirozených půdních bakterií bio nebo fotoremediací. Aplikací těchto bakterií bylo dosaženo pouze 40-70 % odstranění hexadekanu za 4-6 týdnů zatímco 80-90 % DNT bylo odstraněno za 1 týden. Ozařování betonu UV zářením (300-350 nm) s nebo bez fotokatalizátoru vedlo k více jak 95 % odstranění hexadekanu za 1 týden a pouze 50-70 % odstranění DNT během 3-4 týdnů. (cs)
