| - Wolfram (W, at.číslo 74), snad nejdůležitější prvek v práškové metalurgii, byl připraven bratry Elhuyarovými roku 1783 z wolframitu, minerálu získaného z cínovecké oblasti Krušných hor. Je proto nepochopitelné, proč IUPAC roku 2005 rozhodl vymazat toto slovo z učebnic a nahradit jej slovem tungsten. Originál tohoto slova je odvozen od minerálu, nalezeného ve švédském Bitterbergu a později přejmenovaného na minerál scheelit. Náš příspěvek popisuje historii objevu prvku wolframu, první údaje o tomto slovu v technické literatuře, zásluhu jejich autorů a také kritizuje nejčastější omyly a zcestné historické fabulace ve školních učebnicích. - The chemical element wolfram (W, No.74), used in powder metallurgy not only as an important starting metal powder, but also in form of compounds (mostly carbides and borides) has been prepared 1783 by de Elhuyar brothers from the wolframite ore brought by them from the Zinnwald region of Ore Mountains on the Bohemian northern border, now Czech Republic. It is hardly understandable, why IUPAC decided 2005 to rub out this word from textbooks by leaving only the later introduced tungsten (heavy stone). Originally it was the name of Swedish ore from Bitberg region, changed to scheelite. Our contribution describes the history of wolfram discovery, first introduction of this word in technical literature, merits of their authors and frequent mistakes in textbooks.
